About Us

Back back

In 2000 we started a four year project to walk and map all the publicly accessible walks in North Queensland. In that time we published several guidebooks, listing over 190 walks in the region. Initially we printed these as separate black-and-white 48 page books, expanding our range as we completed mapping each region. Now, the books have been amalgamated into one 192 page full-colour book, light enough to carry in a backpack and tough enough to last for years. Each walk is rated according to difficulty and approximate time. The text includes directions to the start of each walk.
There is also a handy A5 size colour book that covers the popular Cairns/Kuranda area. It is designed for Cairns' visitors and is good value – less than a single sheet, folded road map. It is an extract from the full book.
We write, map and publish the books in our home-office in the rainforest near Kuranda west of Cairns, the centre of the World Heritage Wet Tropics Area.
Happy walking...Kym Dungey and Jane Whytlaw
